Hot On Your Heels is presented by
Hot On Your Heels is a women’s only enduro style mountain bike race. Held in Squamish BC as a fundraiser for “Go Girls! Healthy bodies healthy minds” a program with Big Brothers Big Sisters. Not just a race, it’s about sharing the ride with friends in a social but competitive atmosphere. Held on the world renowned trails of Squamish, BC, you can expect an excellent mix of climbing and descending, set against the backdrop of the coastal rainforest, with vistas of Howe Sound and the surrounding peaks. The race is fully supported by our on course all-male volunteer cast, providing food and refreshment, motivation, and definitely some entertainment. Cross the finish line and you’re half way there… tear off those riding shoes and slip on your heels, let the legendary after party begin. More than a race, Hot On Your Heels promises to be a highlight of your summer.
Each year the course brings a few changes and a few new challenges. The trails are chosen with the intent of pushing some of you out of your comfort zones but still keeping it super fun for the more advanced riders. The format of the ‘race’ is enduro, but forget all of that nonsense you may have heard about cut off times and fanny packs. ‘Enduro’ is really just some new fancy word for timed segments, giving you ample time to stop and catch your breath along the way, chit chat with the handsome volunteers, and cheer on your fellow riders. Course details for this years race can be found under the ‘Course Info’ tab.
After Party Details
Kick off those cleats, wipe that mud off your calves and slip on those cocktail dresses and dancing shoes. It’s time to party! Each year the Hot On Your Heels after party is the hottest party in town. The after party is exclusive to racers and volunteers. Looking for details on the after party for this years race? Check out ‘The Party’ tab to get the scoop.
Sponsors and PRIZES!
Wouldn’t you love to throw your leg over this hot ticket item? We are stoked to have our Double Black Diamond title sponsors, Norco Bicycles and Republic Bicycles back for 2018. New for 2018, Norco is bringing out a fantastic lineup of women’s bikes and we’re thrilled to have a WOMEN’S Carbon Sight C.2 on our prize table, along with a bucketload full of other amazing prizes from Live to Play Sports! You asked and they listened. “No two riders are the same, and gender is only one part of the equation. We offer women’s bicycles with uncompromised ride quality and geometry. In addition, Norco’s women’s bikes are built with women’s specific saddles, have crank lengths that match the size of the frame, women’s specific grips to fit smaller on average hands, and handlebar widths that are appropriate for the average women’s shoulder width to height ratio.” This bike retails for $5,999CAD but one lucky lady will be riding away on one this year at HOYH! Each rider will receive one free raffle ticket but if you want to get in on the goods, plenty of extra raffle tickets will be available for purchase with all proceeds going to Go Girls! Healthy Bodies Healthy Minds, a division of Big Brothers Big Sisters.
But that’s not all! Our prize table will be piled high with some pretty incredible prizes from a long list of contributors. Be sure to check our Facebook page closer to the race date to see what we have in store for you this year and remember, the more raffle tickets you buy, the better your chances are of winning!
This event would not be what it is without the generous help and donations from our sponsors. Show your support by choosing these businesses the next time you are in need of something they provide. And if you would like to throw in a prize or two for our raffle table, please contact me at email@example.com. Every dollar from this raffle will go directly back into Go Girls in Squamish.
Just an added FYI – If you are carrying your cell phones while riding, I highly suggest wrapping them in a ziplock bag in the bottom of your camel back. I cannot be held responsible for sponge bath cell phone damage.
